At this point, I can't believe that it's been over 2 years since I started down this path and functionally have nothing to show for it. Not that its much better, but I genuinely thought I began all this work in 2024. I knew this work was older than the book I pivoted to, which I started in July 2024, but I didn't realize I put all this work in from April - July of 2023... And then nothing.
Part of the struggle has been life itself. Work, family, everything takes time and effort, and at some point things need to be prioritized. Until earlier this year, I was still very much holding out hope for my primary business venture to get moving; thus the idea of writing a book was put on the back seat. Combined with this book being put behind my pivot novel, and the reasoning becomes more clear.
As I said, the business venture I have been working on for the better part of 5 years is wrapping up - which definitely helps with my "plate" - and I'm actively trying to reshape responsibilities at my day job. Combined with refocusing personal priorities, I am actively hoping to begin significant progress this year. Not only on this wonderful Science Fantasy tale, but on the book I've pivoted to as I dust off my writing cobwebs.
Now, I hopefully can just keep up my own personal accountability and start making things happen.
